As part of our deep dive into GapLists, this week we’ll take a look at Teaching and Languages courses. (In our last newsletter we shared content needs for our digital portfolio so if you’re a digital expert and content creator, you can read more about that here.)
The opportunity-areas are below. If you can fill these content gaps and produce winning courses in this space, please speak with your Partnership Manager without delay.
Teaching and Languages
For partners with specialist knowledge and content experience in Teaching and Languages, please see the areas of interest below. (We recommend that short courses in teaching and languages run at around 6 weeks to maximise success.)
-
Traditionally, courses in English as a Foreign Language can be very popular on our platform. We think courses in these areas could be winners:
- IELTS ExpertTracks or microcredentials
- Longer short courses of 6+ weeks in length
- Pre-sessional courses – preparing students coming to the UK to study (language skills in an academic context: presentations, tutorials, critical thinking etc.)
-
Teaching Languages. We have great success in introductory courses in online teaching – intermediate or more specialised courses could do well here:
- Intermediate to advanced courses in delivering online lessons
- Short courses of 6 weeks or more in length
-
While we have introductory courses in these areas, we’d like to add more intermediate content.
- Intermediate short courses
- 6+ weeks
- French, Spanish, German, Dutch
-
How about some more Contextualised language/Cultural awareness courses? These could be useful for students on their year abroad, business travellers, gap-year travellers and others.
- Language skills for travel emergencies
- Language skills for business
- Cultural survival skills: business, travel etc.
- General and niche cultural courses
-
Sign Languages and non-verbal communication
- Non-verbal skills for Presentations, Influencing and Negotiation
- Sign language courses – introductory and intermediate levels.
