Partners often ask for the logo of a third-party organisation to appear on their Course Description Page and certificate.
Where the logo appears depends on the ‘relationship’ that the organisation has to the course/partner (see below).
Third-party logos are not displayed in weekly emails or additional emails. Third-party logos do not appear on partner pages.
Legality
By providing logos and information about a third-party organisation associated with your course, and by confirming their relationship to the course, you guarantee that you have that organisation's permission to share their information and logos, and to be associated with your course in that way. We may ask for proof of that association, or refer your request to a FutureLearn Partnership Manager (if the third-party organisation is an existing FutureLearn partner).
Providing a logo
If you indicate on your course proposal that a third-party organisation is involved in your course, we will request their logo. It is not possible for partners to upload logos to Course Creator, so please provide logos to the content team as early as possible during course development.
To add a third-party organisation logo to your Course Description Page please provide the following:
- Logo in vector format i.e. .eps, .ai, or .svg
- The URL of the organisation’s website
- The relationship between your organisation and theirs (see below)
- If the organisation is a cocreator, supply a short description of the organisation (500 characters or less including spaces)
-
If the organisation is an accreditor:
- You must supply a short description of the accreditation specific to the accrediting body
- You can optionally supply general description of the accreditation on the course
We will reformat the logo to appear in all relevant sizes on the FutureLearn site.
We ask for the logo in a vector format (usually .SVG, .AI or .EPS) so that the image can be resized everywhere on our site without loss of quality. Images in formats such as .JPEG, .PNG, .BMP or .TIFF can look pixelated if we need to enlarge them beyond their original size.
A correct vector file will allow us to manipulate the individual outlines and make sure the logo will appear in all situations without a loss of quality. For example, a correct vector file will show the outlines as in the images below.
Saving an image logo as a vector file will not allow us to resize it in the same way, so please only send files that you have created as vectors to begin with. If a logo converted from an image is tall and thin, it will look very small when resized to fit on the CDP and course certificate.
An image that has been saved as a vector file will not show the outlines as above, and instead will show as a white box, with no outlines visible:
