What are you doing to promote my course(s)? |
All FutureLearn courses benefit from specialised platform marketing simply by being on the FutureLearn marketplace. Courses are promoted with SEO, via our affiliate network, across our organic channels and through always-on paid media, all of which are curated to bring as many potential learners to the platform as possible. You can read more about this within the Marketing Playbook on the Partner Site. |
Is there anything additional you can do to promote my course(s)? |
We work to a seasonal calendar, selecting key dates and cultural moments that are relevant to learners. If you feel your course is directly related to a large cultural moment (e.g. Black History Month) please highlight this to your Partnership Manager and they will cascade this information to the marketing team. Please be aware that additional promotion is not guaranteed, and that we plan these campaigns 2-3 months in advance, so please raise to your Partnership Manager in plenty of time. |
How can I get my course(s) promoted on social media channels/by email/on the FutureLearn homepage? |
As part of our specialised platform marketing, the Marketing Team are continually optimising the promotion of all our courses, ensuring the learner receives the best possible experience and served the most relevant and trending courses on the right channels. Course promotion on our social media channels/by email/on the FutureLearn homepage is based on audience demand, seasonality and performance data. So for this reason, we are not able to take specific partner requests for inclusions. |
I have promoted my course(s) on my own social media channels, can you amplify those efforts? |
Please make sure that you tag @FutureLearn and use the hashtag #ThisIsFutureLearning in any social media activity about the course. This will enable our Social Media Team to automatically pick this up and engage with your post by liking/commenting and re-posting, where appropriate. Posts will only be reshared if the team feels the content is suitable for the channel and fits within our wider social strategy. |
Where can I find the FutureLearn logo and design templates to use in my own marketing activity? |
You can find the FutureLearn logo here and additional assets in our toolkits here. More general brand and design guidelines are available here on the FutureLearn Partner Site. |
I have additional money for a paid marketing campaign, can you run it on my behalf? |
If you have over £50K GBP to spend on paid media, please speak to your Partnership Manager who can discuss the possibility of FutureLearn running a Professional Services Campaign - an “agency-style” service. For more information, please see this guide. We are unable to manage or run bespoke campaigns for budgets under £50K GBP. Please note, FutureLearn do run their own always-on paid media activity, promoting the platform and driving traffic to the marketplace with inclusion of partners and courses where suitable. You can read more about this in our toolkits here. If you are planning to run your own paid marketing campaign, please share plans of this in advance with your Partnership Manager, as this will help us to ensure maximum alignment and impact. It is important that any external activity uses clear and correct UTM’s/tracking so we can identify this separately from FL marketing activity. You can see our guide on how to implement tracking links here. |
Can I have a call with marketing to discuss marketing plans for my course? |
We are not resourced to attend calls or create and discuss bespoke marketing plans with individual partners. However, all our partners and courses benefit from our best-in-class platform marketing across our channels (website, SEO, promotion via our affiliate network, social media, email). You can find out more in our Marketing Playbook. |
Do you promote Microcredentials/Degrees/Short courses/ExpertTracks differently? |
Our overall approach to marketing at FutureLearn is similar across all products and is outlined in our Marketing Playbook. For specifics around promotion of our different products see: |
I am a new Partner to FutureLearn, what will you do to announce the partnership? |
When you join FutureLearn as a new partner you will immediately benefit from our specialised platform marketing. This is outlined in our Marketing Playbook. We also announce all new partners via a quarterly press release. New partners will be included in the press release once their content is live on the FutureLearn platform. This is a standardised process and marketing will pull all information from the partner/course pages on the platform. Please feel free to announce the partnership on your own social media channels, making sure to follow and tag us @FutureLearn on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn and Instagram. We are also happy to work with you on a press release to announce the partnership to the industry. We ask that you take responsibility for drafting and distributing the release, however we are happy to provide a quote on behalf of FutureLearn. |
I don’t understand the course data on my Insights Dashboard |
Guidance to help you understand your Insights Dashboards can be found on the Partner Site. If you need any further help, please reach out to your Partnership Manager. |
Can I see how well my course is performing against other similar courses? |
Within these dashboards you will see a score of 1st-4th against certain metrics. This indicates where your course performs against other courses within the same category. This is the only data we are able to share, to protect the interests of other partners. |
I have used tracking links (UTMs) in my campaign, can you give me a report on this? |
We encourage our partners to add tracking to their links (UTMs), using this information on the Partner Site and this form. This helps us to distinguish partner traffic from our own marketing, and helps us optimise our campaigns. However, we are not able to share any additional data at this point. |
