Updates to reminder emails in the course experience
The Learner Experience team has been working on improving a couple of course emails to activate and reactivate learners who enrolled in a course but haven’t started or continued their learning journey for some time. Enhancements will result in learners receiving relevant content in a timely fashion, which will hopefully encourage them to return to their course and continue learning.
The Prompt to start email will be sent out to all those who joined a course, but haven’t made real progress yet. Previous research insights indicate that learners value reminders, and emails are an important touchpoint that help them navigate directly back to their course.
The Prompt to restart email will be received by those who stopped progressing through their course for some reason and could probably benefit from some motivation. In their email we will show and direct them to the next step in their course, and we will also share highlights from course discussions they can check out directly from the email.
By driving more learners back to their courses we can increase retention, course progression and course completion. By adding social content to some emails, we also hope to impact the number of social interactions within courses positively.
Course proposal updates
We are making several updates to the course proposal form. These updates will help the content team to more effectively communicate with the key individuals developing their respective courses. In addition, they will support the content team to deliver better optimised course description pages, along with providing a higher level of detail around proposed course start dates. In summary, these changes will help to increase the speed at which courses are delivered to the platform, and drive traffic to the course description pages.
The full list of questions contained within the course proposal is available on our partner site.
