What are Facilitation Windows?
Learners like to know whether to expect educators to participate in a course when they sign up. As more courses are moving to an On Demand model, we know that educators and mentors are likely to be available for specific chunks of time, and learners will be able to join courses when they are not present. We have created some functionality to display this information to learners, to give them all of the information.
On the Course Description Page:
If a course is actively being facilitated, it will show under the Join button and in a specific module further down the page.
If a course will be facilitated within the next 4 weeks, the section under the Join button will not show, but the dates will show under ‘Learning on this course’. If there are multiple date ranges, they will be listed below, with the soonest at the top.
If a course is not being facilitated, or the next window is more than 4 weeks away, this message will show instead.
There will also be a notice within the course experience, showing only if there are educators currently facilitating:
How do I add my facilitation dates so that they are displayed to learners?
You can find the section for adding facilitation dates in Course Creator under the Facilitation tab for your course. This will be at the run level.
The page will allow you to add new dates and delete existing ones. Dates that are in the past will not be displayed, but future dates will be, as long as the earliest is within the next 4 weeks.
You should add the facilitation dates in the following date format: DD/MM/YYYY. Then click "Add Facilitation Date".
The dates will then be displayed below.
