The following article contains guidance on using our course creation tool.
Accessing Course Creator
Begin by logging in to FutureLearn and heading to Course Creator, via the admin bar. The admin bar appears throughout FutureLearn when you are logged in with relevant permissions and allows you to switch between Course Creator and FutureLearn.
See the video below for more detail:
Creating a new course
Please note that only users with Organisation Admin access are able to create new courses.
If the course you're creating is an open course, please submit a course proposal. The proposal will then be processed by a member of the FutureLearn team and the course and first run will be automatically set up with the information you provided in the proposal form.
If the course you're creating is to run privately, please create it via the 'Courses' tab as shown below. Private (invite-only) courses do not require course proposals.
Add a URL, indicate whether this is a closed or a sandbox course and select 'Create course'.
Adding a course run
To add a new run of a course, click the ‘Add run’ button on the 'Courses' page.
After clicking ‘Add run’, you will see a screen asking you to confirm if you are happy to continue. Adding a run means copying across all the details that are required to open a new run for enrolment minus the weeks, activities and steps. This content is copied from the most recent run.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org when you are ready to open the run for enrolment.
You can also set a provisional start date in the 'Edit course run' area. This is useful if you have an idea of the month and year but not the specific date.
