FutureLearn has been delivering online learning since 2013. In that time we have launched hundreds of courses and enrolled over 14 million learners. In the process we have gathered a wealth of information on what it takes to deliver impactful online courses.
We wanted to create a resource that would make the course creation process as simple as possible, whilst ensuring that courses delivered on the platform are of the highest quality. This is why we have produced the FutureLearn Learning Library.
The Learning Library is a bank of resources that can be used to guide the content production process, and enhance the quality of any new course produced on the platform. In the library we are sharing: templates, reusable assets, best-in-class examples and pedagogical patterns that will speed up the course planning, design and production processes. The Library has 4 sections:
This sections explains how to use the FutureLearn course outline that support you with the efficient development of high-quality courses.
This section explains how to build activities to meet clear Learning Outcomes, and provides templates and exemplars to guide you in the process.
Section 3: Steps [Coming soon]
This section provides you with access to a database of steps that showcase a variety of ways of delivering learning via FutureLearn.
This section provides you with an overview of how to map assessment across an ExpertTrack, and several template course outlines that showcase how you can structure courses within an ExpertTrack.
